Come celebrate the outdoors with TAKO at Kiwanis Park in Iowa City on Saturday November 6th from 11AM - 1 PM. Adults get unplugged, gather your kids, and get outside. Bring your binoculars and see if you can spot some native birds too. Go on a short hike and possibly walk on some muddy trails. Participants should dress to walk in the woods. Dress in layers and be prepared for a range of weather conditions. This event is co-sponsored by Old Capitol Kiwanis Club and Big Brother Big Sisters.
Enjoy some warm soup and snacks and hang out around the fire pit to roast some bananas. Please help us reduce waste by bringing a water bottle, plates, silverware and other lunch items.
Bring a hat, work gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellant, drinking water, and any other items you may need to be comfortable in the outdoors. Participants are also encouraged to bring a digital camera and/or binoculars. You may also bring a roasting stick!
Note: we will be updating mask requirements based on CDC guidelines.
