Seize the Carp 2016!

TAKO's 2016 Seize the Carp event was a big success!

253+ participants with over 100 NEW Members!!

As TAKO's only regularly scheduled ALL DAY event, Seize the Carp showcases many of our favorite activities.

This year's features included:

• a canoe and kayak float on the the Iowa River (including some hand-crafted, "recycled materials" kayaks!)
• 
• 
• raptors (owls, turkey vultures, and falcons)
• 
• 
• native and pioneer games
• 
• a big tub full of Oobleck
• 
• nature and archaeology walks by the Iowa River and in the woods
• 
• and (of course) CARP!: fishing for carp, cleaning of carp, and eating of tasty cheesy carp dip and carp burgers!
• 
• And even MORE Fishing!
• 

Music was provided by Family Folk Machine and The Skipperlings.

AND there was even more! Including:
Yoga for Everybody!
safety demos by the Army Corps of Engineers

a talk on Dog Safety, a BIG fire engine, Food and Information Vendors, ...

and MUCH MORE!
