Seize the Carp

Seize the Carp is the biggest Take A Kid Outdoors event of the year!

Why carp? Because it's funny. "Carp is the SPAM™ of fish." Each year we get together to enjoy the outdoors and have some fun while promoting the message that carp are edible, tasty, and fun to catch. We also remind participants that carp are not native to Iowa and are considered a menace by the many biologists and fisheries experts--so the more you catch, the better it is for Iowa's ecosystem.
